"He will be available": Carlo Ancelotti provides an update on Neymar's fitness as Brazil prepares to play Scotland
Neymar will be able to play in the Selecao's last group match against Scotland, according to Brazil boss Carlo Ancelotti. Due to a calf injury, the Santos attacking midfielder missed the first two games of the competition. However, the manager has stated that he will practice with the club early next week and will contribute to the conclusion of Group C play.
Transitioning from practice to competition
Neymar did not participate in Brazil's first group match against Morocco, despite being listed on the bench. The Selecao also said prior to Friday's match that the 34-year-old will stay in New Jersey to continue recovering from a grade two calf strain, which was predicted to keep him out for two to three weeks.
However, Ancelotti stated that he anticipates Neymar being completely available to finish Group C play.Neymar will work out alone tomorrow and with the team on Monday. After the Selecao defeated Haiti 3-0, he declared, "He will be available for the match against Scotland."
